நேரத்தோடு
கூடு நோக்கி
பறந்து சென்றன நாரைகள்.
கீழே
இன்னும் வேலை முடியாத மனிதர்கள்
அக்கம் பக்கம் பார்த்து

ஆட்கள்
மிருகங்கள்
வாகனங்கள்
இல்லையென்று நிச்சயித்துக் கொண்டு
பாறைகளைப் பிளக்க வெடியை வெடித்தனர்.

ஒரு கணம்
அரண்டு
தயங்கிக்
குழம்பிச்
சிதறி
மீண்டும் தன் வழியே வரிசைகொண்டு
சாவகாசமாய்
மிதந்து சென்றன பறவைகள்

has disappeared in the west.
On time
nestwards
the herons fly.
Down below
Day’s toil not finished yet, men
look around
(No time to look up)
Ensure there are no :
Men
Beasts
Vehicles
Before setting explosives
For splitting the rocks.
Shellshocked
For an instant
Terrified
Hesitant
Confused
Scattered
Then back on their way, serried
and relaxed
The birds float away.
